all the more reason you should take tennis lessons.

if you learn tennis you can always pick up squash later.

Every long time squash player I've known also played tennis tolerably well at their first time trying it. I do not know any players of both who began with tennis.

I play both now and I began with tennis. Of the two, I thing tennis is harder to learn.

i also think it's harder to find squash courts, so if you grew up playing squash, and you stick to areas with squash, there's probably no need to pick up tennis.

I think squash is way more fun. if you're in a major east coast city it's probably easier to get a court and find people to play with compared to tennis (don't need to cancel due to weather; just book tour court and show up, any decent club should have players of a variety of skill levels plus round robins, ladders, etc).

Do squash. You can play before work or after and don't need to worry about people finishing before you, like you would if you're relying on public courts to play tennis. Don't need to worry about weather. I think squash is way more intense, strategic, and has a lower initial learning curve.

Squash is a 180 cardio workout and works your glutes something fierce.

yeah you burn lots of calories but if you play a lot and are already in good shape you'll probably gain weight by building muscles in your calves and glutes
